Pixels

I like the idea of wearing  all the zig- zagginess of a pixeled edge... a lot of this going around.

Digital Repeats

Just wanted to update this post with yesterday's FW 12 Helmut Lang Show :

seems to go so nicely with what I had written before... :)

Found this image today on AnOtherMag.com
Photo by Marco Brambilla titled "Flashback (POV), 2010."

This is from Anthro:

I love this. you take the prettiest picture you have ever seen and you just make it repeat over an over again, like old movie film when it has reached the end of a roll. You don't try to blend or modify the image to make it work it in a repeating manner. you just accept the square and the edges as they were as part of the design.

I noticed this at Cults as well. As they are originally film students, their concerts occasionally have a beautiful video component that they work on together.

They did a lot of the same type of repetition in images for an equally interesting effect.

I loved how they created pixelated images at Cults as well.
just blowing them out and playing with the overlap of squares and abstract colors.

Lace and other things...

and i love the idea of mixing in a little neon...

and wearing it with some edgy pearls:

And a shift to something a little more sultry... modern lace framed in geometry

also a fine emerald green...

Some great new / old slingbacks.

Since spring is just around the corner, it was time to repair my slingbacks.

So after i did that,  I drummed up this piece of broken jewelry.  It is made from amethyst, which my upstairs neighbor would explain enhances your intuition. it seems like a good enough thing to have on your feet:

So i broke the bracelet in half, and voila!  some beautiful new shoes.

My mom would say " twinkle toes" :)

Outfit concepts? MM!  I'm thinking up some pretty floral and lace dresses ~ <3

I wish this were me/ mine....

...but it is a portrait of Threeasfour designer Angela Donhauser
as seen through the lens of DIETMAR BUSSE.
That works too.
And it's on my blog now, so it's kind of mine :)

A date with a big white dress ~

I did this portrait of my sister in law, Kelly,  for her for Christmas.   I had such an amazing "date" with her dress at her mom's house. I just sat and studied it with my sketch book. I was just like curling up with a good book in front of a fireplace.  the lace was so intricate and so beautiful. the motifs on the dress never really repeat. it was as if the lace just grew that way and was pruned back perfectly symmetrically by a very crafty gardener.   i have a feeling this isn't my last portrait!

 so much love :)
